The names nobody else can get.

We are a domain brokerage and aftermarket house. We negotiate, acquire, hold and sell premium domains for companies and founders — under written mandate, through escrow, and without your name attached to the approach.

Most of the names worth owning never reach a marketplace. They change hands in a conversation — and the conversation is the service.

Trust Domain Names Inc. has worked the aftermarket since 2010. We are not a registrar and we don't run a listings board. We take a small number of mandates at a time and work each one directly.

Six mandates we take.

Every engagement is scoped in writing before anyone is approached. Open one to see what it covers.

BRK Brokerage We approach the owner and negotiate the price. You stay anonymous.

Most acquisitions fail because the approach is clumsy. We identify the registered holder, open the conversation as an interested party, and negotiate a price and a structure you can actually accept.

  • Your identityWithheld until escrow
ACQ Acquisition You name the domain. We take it off the market.

Give us a target — a single name, a shortlist, or a whole portfolio. We do the ownership research and the valuation work, then bring you a number and our reasoning behind it. You decide whether to proceed.

  • Typical timeline3 – 8 weeks

CNS Consignment We sell your name without publishing it.

Your domain is marketed privately to a qualified list rather than posted on a marketplace, where price expectations get anchored low. We agree a floor with you, run the negotiation, and report every approach we make.

  • Typical timeline1 – 6 months

TRD Trading We buy single names and portfolios outright.

If you want liquidity rather than a process, we will make a direct offer on your domain or portfolio. Payment settles through escrow and the transfer is handled for you, end to end.

  • Typical timeline5 – 15 days
  • OfferWithin a week
  • SettlementEscrow
ESC Escrow & custody We hold the asset while the deal settles.

Funds are held by a licensed escrow provider until the transfer is confirmed, and the name stays with the seller until the money clears. Neither party moves first. Longer custody arrangements are available for names held as assets.

MON Monitoring We watch the names you want, and the ones you already own.

Expiry dates, registrar changes, DNS shifts and aftermarket listings, tracked for the names on your list. You get told when something moves, along with an opinion on whether it matters.

How a mandate runs.

Five stages, and you can stop at any of them. Most mandates end at stage three, which is a perfectly good outcome.

  1. 01

    Tell us the name

Send the domain and what it's worth to you. There's no form and no account to create — one email is enough to start.

  2. 02

    We find the owner

We identify the registered holder, confirm the right to transfer, and open the conversation without disclosing who we're working for.

  3. 03

    You get a number

We come back with a price, a structure and our read on whether it's fair. Nothing is committed until you say yes to it.

  4. 04

    Escrow settles

Funds and the domain move through escrow at the same time. Neither side has to move first, and neither side has to trust the other.

  5. 05

    The transfer completes

Auth code, registrar transfer and DNS handover are handled by us. You get the name and the paperwork in the same place.

The closed file.

Identities and exact prices are withheld at the client's request. Ranges appear only where the seller agreed to them.

Funds and the name move at the same time.

Every transaction we close settles through a licensed escrow provider. The buyer's money is held until the transfer is verified; the seller keeps the name until the funds clear. Neither side moves first, and neither side appears in a public record.

Escrow, always

No mandate closes outside escrow, however small the amount. It is the only way both sides can stop worrying.

Ownership verified

Before we approach anyone we confirm the registered holder and the right to transfer. Nothing is negotiated on a name that cannot move.

Your name stays out

We approach as an interested party. Your identity is disclosed only when you approve it, after escrow is funded.

A brokerage, not a marketplace.

A domain name is the only asset most companies own that cannot be replaced. You can rebuild a website, redraw a logo, rename a product. You cannot buy back the name your customers already type.

Trust Domain Names Inc. has worked the aftermarket since 2010 — brokering, acquiring, holding and selling names for companies, funds and founders. We are not a registrar and we don't operate a listings board, which is why most of what we close was never publicly for sale.

We take a limited number of mandates at a time. Every one is scoped in writing, every approach is made without naming our client, and every close settles through escrow.

Questions owners ask.

Straight answers. If yours isn't here, put it in the email and we'll answer it the same way.

What does it cost?

Nothing until a deal closes. Brokerage is a percentage of the final price, agreed in writing before we approach anyone. Research, valuation and outreach are part of that fee, not billed separately.

Will the owner know who I am?

Not unless you want them to. We approach as an interested party and negotiate in our own name. Your identity is disclosed only after escrow is funded and you have approved it.

What if the owner won't sell?

You get a clear answer and no invoice. We'll tell you whether price or timing was the blocker, and whether a second approach later is worth making.

Can you sell a domain I already own?

Yes. We agree a floor with you, market the name privately to qualified buyers, and run it as a written consignment. You see every approach we make and can stop the mandate at any point.

How long does it take?

Two to five weeks for most acquisitions. Portfolio sales and contested names run longer. You get a realistic window before committing to anything.

Do you handle the transfer?

Yes — auth code, registrar transfer and DNS handover are all part of the mandate. We deal with the registrar so you don't have to.

No forms. Just write to us.

Tell us the domain. We'll tell you whether it can move, what it should cost, and how long it will take.

Three things that help us answer properly

  1. The domain, or the shortlist of domains you're asking about.
  2. What it's for — a company name, a redirect, or an investment.
  3. Whether you're buying, selling, or still deciding.

We reply within one business day. If we can't help, we'll say so and point you somewhere better.
